The Fallon Cantaloupe Festival is alive and well and will celebrate its 28th birthday this Labor Day weekend. The festival is also Nevada’s longest running agricultural event. In recent years, the festival had fallen on challenging times, but in 2010, a nonprofit corporation, Fallon Festival Association, Inc., which is comprised of volunteers, took over the management of the event and has proven to be successful in its efforts to keep this treasured event up and running.
