Carson writer to read his works at Comma Coffee Thursday

Robert Leonard Reid, a Carson City writer and performance artist, will read from his works Thursday at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St.

Reid, a Nevada Arts Council fellow, will read from his short-story collection titled “Rhapsodies and Bagatelles” beginning at 6 p.m. He is the author of five books, including his latest, “Arctic Circle,” and of four works for the theater, among them three comedy revues. Reid also estimates he has written about 100 magazine articles and essays.

The writer, musician and performance artist has received two artist fellowships in the literary arts from the Nevada Arts Council and two literary artist grants from the Sierra art Foundation. In 2009, he won the Silver Pen Award from the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.
