CHS PERFORMING ARTS SHOW

What is “Urinetown”? Come and see the show to find out! A musical comedy that manages to subsequently be dark and profound, “Urinetown” is an earnest tale of love, greed and revolution. The show is set in a town plagued by a 20-year drought, where water has become so scarce that private toilets have become unthinkable.

At the mercy of a single dominating corporation who maintains a monopoly on the town’s public amenities, the destitute citizens must pay towering taxes and fines to carry out their most private and basic of needs. Out of the mass of the pitiable, a hero rises to lead his fellow citizens against the tyrannical regime.

Starring Courtney Baxter, Kaeli Biggin, Ivan Gates, Brent Lauderaugh, Amanda Ramsey, Henry Wilson, and an incredible supporting cast, chorus, pit orchestra and crew, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Tickets are available at the door of the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center and are $5 high school students and children; $10 for general admission.

Show dates are 7 p.m. April 4, 10, 11 and 12; 2 p.m. April 6 and 12.

INFO NIGHT FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN

Carson High School will be hosting an information night for incoming freshmen and their parents on Tuesday for Eagle Valley Middle School, Bethlehem Lutheran School, and St. Teresa. Carson Middle School will be hosted Wednesday. Both evenings will begin at 6 p.m. in the Carson High School library.

Please plan to join the Carson High School counselors to learn more about the high school and have any questions answered.

SENIOR PROJECT FUNDRAISER

Senior student Genoa Donaldson is raising money for breast cancer research for her senior project.

Genoa will be utilizing her culinary skills as she prepares hors d’oeuvres that are healthy and will give a presentation on how to have healthy eating habits 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bella Salon.

All proceeds go toward breast cancer research. The cost is $25 per person. Contact Genoa via her culinary teacher Penny Reynolds at preynolds@carson.k12.nv.us for more information, to purchase a ticket or make a contribution to this fundraiser.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

This week the Senior Spotlight is on Andrew Cooper. Andy has kept a rigorous class load, taking all advanced placement and honors courses, including the We the People class where the team advanced to the state competition. Despite his challenging course load he has managed to maintain a 4.82 weighted grade-point average.

Andy is a member of National Honor Society. He has played on the varsity football, basketball, and golf teams at CHS. Additionally, he was just nominated as a prom king candidate. He also works at the Carson Aquatic Facility.

Andy will attend UNR next year, majoring in biochemistry. He plans on going into medicine.

Carson High School is proud to spotlight such a bright and promising individual. We wish you much success in your future.
