Carson City partnership gets United Way funds for aiding at-risk youths

A Carson City partnership tackling problems of at-risk youths was among groups receiving funding from United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra, according to the United Way unit. The funding, announced Monday, included $25,000 for a partnership involving Carson City Community Counseling Center, the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, Partnership Carson City, Families First Drug Court, the Carson City Jail and the Carson City Rural Mental Health Clinic. The money is to help address “complex conditions that are putting youth at risk in that area, initially identified through poor school attendance and substance abuse,” the Northern Nevada unit’s news …
