Californian gets 5-year sentence

A California man was sentenced Tuesday in District Court up to five years in prison on a drug charge. Troy Wayne Coonrod, 51, of Redding pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit a felony crime under the uniform controlled substance act in May. In court, he was sentenced to two to five years for transporting more than 8 pounds of marijuana. According to court records, Coonrod was arrested Dec. 8, 2012, by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office on the Reno Highway near the Leetville Junction.
