Carson’s Chinatown (continued from Wednesday). There is at the West End, as one might describe it — a small, rude pontificate or amateur bridge, which leads the unwary from the virtuous highway up to the door of a Chinese female boarding house of evil intention; and in the construction of this small bridge we notice that the Oriental architect has made most excellent employment of certain abandoned kerosene cans, having filled them with sand as a mean imitation of masonry, for an abutment of this superstructure (continued Friday).

The eclipse last evening was very poorly attended. Carson has been a bad show town during the last six months. Princess Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins is leading a domestic life in Providence, Rhode Island.

Among the effects of Mrs. Susan West was a letter written by one of the men who were unjustly shot to death at Palmyra during the war. Although he was to be executed within a few hours, his penmanship was almost perfect. The letter, now 51 years old, appeared on the front page of the Appeal.

Wholesale and retail liquor dealers in Nevada should restrict sales to state consumption says the head of the state liquor tax department. Such a restriction will conserve the dwindling supply of liquor.
