School bus drivers trained for counter-attacks
School bus drivers in the Storey County School District received training Friday in attack counter-measures, according to organizers.
The training is described as “scenario-based attack counter-measure” work and stems from shootings at Sparks Middle School and Renown hospital, as well as other such violence nationwide, said district transportation director Kelly Knapp.
Apex Security Curriculum Fundamentals handled the training. It took place at Storey County High School’s training building, first in a classroom and later on buses.
