Community band to team up with schools for concert

The Capital City Community Band will celebrate its 36th concert season with its annual Salute To Young Musicians at 3 p.m. March 9 in the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center.
The concert celebrates music in children's lives and will feature young musicians from Carson City performing with the Capital City Community Band.
The free concert will feature the combined elementary school choirs from Bordewich Bray, Fritsch and Seeliger elementary schools performing a variety of songs. The choirs also will perform patriotic music and songs from "The Sound of Music" with the band. The Carson Middle School Ewok Ensemble also will perform.
The combined choirs are under the direction of Alan Catron, Carla Sims and Mary Law and consist mainly of fourth- and fifth-grade students.
