Miss Nevada contestants to meet public in Minden
May 3, 2013
The 11 contestants competing to become Miss Nevada 2013 and the 12 young women vying for the title of Miss Nevada's Outstanding Teen will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures during an ice cream social Saturday.
The ice cream social and meet-and-greet is set for 3-5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Minden.
"We have been looking for a way to introduce the contestants to the community of Minden since we began coming here for a preparation weekend," Amy Hacker, executive director of the Miss Nevada Organization, said in a news release. "We had a meet and greet last year and the contestants enjoyed interacting with the residents that stopped by to visit."
The contestants will be in town for a two-day orientation in preparation for the 2013 Miss Nevada and Miss Nevada's Outstanding Teen competitions, set for June 14-15 at Texas Station in North Las Vegas. They will participate in seminars designed to assist with their final plans for competition.
