NV150 Medallion sales winding down but sets of all four coming

Nevada Appeal staff report

Sales of the fourth Nevada 150 medallion will end today at 5 p.m.

The fourth medallion features Wheeler Peak, an ancient bristlecone pine and the desert bighorn sheep.

But coming soon, the Nevada 150 Commission plans to mint a limited and numbered edition of 150 sets of all four Sesquicentennial medallions, enclosed in a display case and with a certificate of authenticity.

Those sets of four will be available beginning Nov. 12 on a first-come-first-serve basis. All orders must be in by Nov. 30.

The medallions have been a popular commemorative item. Each is made of an ounce of pure Nevada silver from the Coeur Mine in Rochester. Each set will cost $600.

There are also sets of the copper medallions available for $100. There's no limit to the copper sets.
