Attorney General Cleveland Baker died very suddenly this morning at 9 a.m. Baker and Attorney George Springmeyer had a narrow race, which was recently cleared and Baker had settled in to office. Cleveland Baker was but thirty years of age.

The World War II mother, like those of old, was terribly mortified to learn that her son, serving in the Pacific theater of war, wrote unashamedly that he is “running around in a jeep!” It was unthinkable to the mother that her boy would be running around with a woman of the enemy.

A Carson City doctor’s wife has petitioned the governor for parole of her husband who was convicted of attempted abortion. The doctor was sentenced to a two-and-a-half year sentence.
