Advertisement: "Thanksgiving Party at the Warm Springs Hotel (the Prison) — A social good time for Thanksgiving — The undersigned proprietors of the Warms Springs Hotel, cordially extend an invitation to their friends to attend what is intended to be 'A Social and Pleasant Reunion' on Thanksgiving Night! November 29th, 1866. Tickets (including carriage and supper) $5. Orders for carriage to be left at the St. Charles Hotel and Ormsby House. Lance Nightingill."

Smothered with Sand: The gasoline stove in the assay office of Eugene Knapp exploded and set the interior of the building on fire. The alarm brought neighbors to the scene and a convenient barrel of water and a street full of sand, subdued the flames before serious damage was done.

110 Years Ago

Winnemucca Round House Burned: At the time of the fire there were no engines in the stalls of the round house. The cause of the fire is unknown. The inability to use the round house will be felt by the railroad company as traffic is unusually heavy, and seven stalls have been constantly in use for the housing engines.
