Woman suspected of cashing stolen checks sought by sheriff’s office

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the female pictured here. The female is suspected of cashing numerous stolen checks at various casinos in Stateline totaling nearly $5,000. These personal checks were obtained when the victim’s purse was stolen in early May of this year.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department at 782-9911 or Secret Witness at 782-7463. A reward of up to $250 is offered for information leading to the identity and arrest of the subject pictured.

Check forgery and other forms of identity theft is an increasing occurrence.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office cautions everyone to be very protective of their personal information.

Never respond to, or send money upfront for any contest or lottery winnings or other gifts without investigating the legitimacy of the information completely. Never give out personal or banking information.
