Lottie Mae Monroe

Jan. 15, 1924 - March 23, 2014

A memorial service for Lottie Mae Monroe, 90, a 15 year Carson City resident, will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday March 29th at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley on Roop Street. Mrs. Monroe died March 23rd 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born January 15th, 1924 in Arnett, Oklahoma to Samuel Bert Smith and Beulah Mae Smith. She married Leland A. Monroe on June 15th, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. Before moving to Carson City, Lottie lived in Portland for more than 30 years and in Las Vegas, Nevada for 10 years. Lottie was a home maker. She helped raise her siblings when she lived at home and after her marriage to Leland, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leland, Smith brothers Edwin, Elbert, Bert, Bob, Elsworth, and sister Alberta. Among her survivors are her children, sons Kerry and wife Tia Monroe, Kenny and wife Manuela Monroe and daughter Sandi Smith-St. Cyr and husband George St. Cyr. Smith brothers Jack, Hershel, Sonny, Steve, Danny and sister Donna Gail. She has 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Lottie has gone to Heaven to be with her Lord and she will be dearly missed.
