May 24, 1933 - April 23, 2014
Thomas Drake Hendricks, 80 of Carson City, passed away at his home April 23, 2014. He was born in New York City May 24, 1933, son of Thomas Grey Hendricks and Dorothy Drake Hendricks. His early years were spent in White Plains, NY and many happy summers were with his grandparents on their farm in South Carolina. He really enjoyed his high school years in Pittsburgh and never minded telling of his escapades or that he graduated in the fifth fifth of his class. His time in the Marine Corps did not turn him into a squared away marine but he was proud that he achieved the rank of sergeant. Then it was time to get serious, so he went to Clemson University as had his father and uncles. After graduating as an electrical engineer, his early career was as a sales engineer and manufacturer’s representative. Later a product which he manufactured was merged with Dynatech Nevada in Carson City. He was president of the company from 1980 until his retirement in 1993. As a manager he was proud of the people he worked with and the products they made. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, son Theodore Hendricks, daughters Karen Hendricks and Claire Hendricks, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters Gretchen Hendricks Thielen and Eileen Hendricks. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church on Monday, May 5 at 10:00 AM (1505 Railroad Dr. Carson City). In lieu of flowers memorial offerings may be made to The
Salvation Army. FitzHenry’s Funeral Home is trusted with arrangements.
