Margaret “Peggy” Anne Renken passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013. Peggy was born in Fallon, Nevada on August 26, 1923 to Jay “Tex” and Katherine Reynolds.
Peggy had gone all through schools in Fallon but she graduated from Eureka High in 1941. She traveled most of the time in her younger years because her dad worked on drilling rigs, but Fallon was their home. Peggy belonged to the Homemakers of America, the Fallon branch, being the Soda Lake Good Will Club, at one time she was President; the Artemisia Club, she was an oral history volunteer for the museum and belonged to the Rebekah’s. At one time, she had been honored with a certificate for being one of Fallon’s pioneer women.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Renken; daughter, Cora Hassard; brother, JD Hassard; son-in-law, Don McFall. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Srinsky (Tom Tweet), Dorris McFall, Maggie Hassard; sons, Fred (Barbara) Hassard, Michael Hassard; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
Graveside services on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11 a.m., Churchill County Cemetery. A potluck gathering to follow service.
Donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to the Churchill County Museum.
