Kiyoko Imagawa Fukui, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2013, in Greenbrae, California. She was born on April 18, 1924, in Sacramento, California to Daijiro and Hisaye Imagawa. She grew up in Sacramento and graduated from Clarksburg High School in 1942.
Kiyo began her career in the Civilian Personnel Branch in the Presidio of San Francisco, and in 1982, retired after 24 years from the Comptroller Division of the Nevada National Guard.
She married Dewey Fukui on June 24, 1956, and was happily married for 53 years. A resident of Carson City for 56 years, Kiyo enjoyed traveling with friends and family and taking long walks with her dog, Summer.
She is survived by her sisters, Kay Zolinsky, June Blackburn, Yukiye Shaffer, Mary Iyama; her brother, Tom Imagawa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kiyo was preceded in death by her parents, Daijiro and Hisaye; her husband, Dewey, and her sisters, Koko Kageta and Dorothy Rathkamp.
Memorial Services will be held at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael, California on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.
