‘A Celebration in Two Sharps’ to feature cellist Stephen Framil

The Carson City Symphony will present “A Celebration in Two Sharps” at 4 p.m. April 28 in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

David Bugli will direct the arrangement and cellist Stephen Framil will play the Cello Concerto by Antonín Dvořák. Watner’s Overture to “Rienzi” and Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony also will feature. All compositions are associated with keys having two sharps, D major and B minor.

Acoustic Solution will provide pre-show entertainment at 3 p.m. in the lobby, playing a mixture of original pieces and covers, including folk, bluegrass, rock and oldies. A meet-the-soloist concert preview will be at 3:15 p.m. in the Sierra Room. Framil will discuss the selected music and composers. Admission to the concert preview is free. A post-concert dinner reception will be held at Red’s Old 395 Grill, 1055 S. Carson St. immediately following the performance. Dinner reservations are required and can be made by calling 775-883-4154.

Tickets for the concert cost $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors, students and Symphony Association members. Admission is free for ages 16 and younger.
