James Vincent Gelsomino passed away on Saturday, May 18th at 9:50 a.m., with his daughter at his side and holding his hand. He was the sixth child of fifteen, born to Gennarino and Giovannina on May 28, 1928 in Providence, RI.
James married the love of his life, Josephine Marandola, on April 26, 1952. They enjoyed their lives together in Johnston, RI until moving to Fallon, NV to stay close to his only child, Jo Petteruti.
In 1960, James and Josephine started their own jewelry electroplating company called Tri-Jay Plating which grew to become highly successful. They sold the company in 1987 and retired to a life of golfing, dancing and traveling together.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Josephine Gelsomino; his daughter, Jo Petteruti and her husband, Paul, and one grandson, Army Sgt. 1st Class Jacob Stroker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr. Fallon. 423-2255. Private interment will follow at a later date.
