Matina “Tina” Zylstra passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Silver Springs on June 4, 2013. Tina was born in Nunspeet, Holland on June 23, 1944 to Gerrit and Evertje Van Olst. She came to this country when she was 22 years old. She, with her husband, Ted, moved to Silver Springs 13 years ago to live closer to family. Tina was a busy lady, always working in the garden, knitting booties for babies, donating them to organizations and she enjoyed making calendars. She was a member of Christian Life Center, attending there since moving to Nevada. Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Eveline Zylstra and several brothers and sisters. Tina is survived by her husband, Ted; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Andrew Alonso of Silver Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Theresa Zylstra of Carson City; sister, Francine Van Peckeren; grandchildren, Colt Bishop, Keelie Bishop, Tanna Alonso, Robert Savage; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Savage.
A Celebration of Tina’s life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2 p. m. at the Christian Life Center, 1435 Kaiser St. Fallon, NV.
