A sin is a sin, unless Jesus washes it away

Yes, God does forgive George Zimmerman! First off, George didn’t break any of God’s laws. You’re probably thinking of that one that’s incorrectly translated from the Hebrew that states, “Thou shalt not kill.” The actual Hebrew word there is “murder.” We know from the verdict of the jury that George acted in self-defense, which is permissible by God.

Now whether or not George Zimmerman feels the “fiery wrath” of Hell or Heaven and God’s forgiveness depends upon other actions that he either has taken or will take in the future. Entrance into Heaven or Hell is not based upon what a good person you are and how many stars you have accumulated on your forehead. It’s based upon whether or not you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and trust Him with your salvation, not with the good works you can do in your lifetime. If you have trusted Jesus as your savior, all of your sins are forgiven and you are born again, blood bought and heaven bound. If you haven’t, then you have chosen a nice, wide, comfortable path that leads straight to Hell.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. One sin isn’t any worse than another in God’s eyes. Murder, adultery, homosexuality, theft, gossip, they all add up to sin in God’s eyes, and only Jesus Christ can wash away all those sins with His blood, making you pure as fresh snow.

Good Samaritan saves Save Mart shopper

This is an open letter for the unknown party who found my dropped wallet last Saturday afternoon in the Save Mart parking lot on East Highway 50. I can’t thank you enough for preventing what could have been a much more serious situation.

One fortunate happening was I realized it was missing shortly after I returned home and could cancel credit cards, file a report with the sheriff’s office, etc. This was also a great lesson to me to carefully consider which cards and personal information I carry in my purse.
