Reid ensures more Senate gridlock in ’14 Ultra-partisan Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s most lasting legacy will be the damage he is doing to the U.S. Senate. In November 2013, Reid led a partisan power play to break Senate rules on filibusters. This action was transparently hypocritical for Sen. Reid, who back in 2005 vigorously resisted any change to the filibuster rules when Democrats were in the Senate minority.
