Former Fallon and University of Nevada standout Josh Mauga signed a one-year contract today with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mauga played the first four years of his career as a linebacker with the New York Jets before being release after the 2013 season.
His career has been plagued by injuries the past two seasons as Mauga played in only five games recording two tackles. Mauga’s best season came in 2011 when he played in 16 games, started one and logged nine tackles and one interception.
The Chiefs open training camp Thursday. NFL contracts are not guaranteed.
Kansas City plays in the AFC West along with Denver, Oakland and San Diego. The Chiefs also play at San Francisco on Oct. 5 and at Oakland on Nov. 20.
