Carson softball swept by Galena, misses playoffs

Carson High’s softball team entered Saturday’s home doubleheader against Galena needing a sweep to have a chance to qualify for the regional tournament which starts on Tuesday. The Senators weren’t up to the task, falling 6-1 and 4-0 to the Grizzlies to end the league season at 3-13 and falling to 9-22 overall. Galena, by virtue of the sweep, grabbed the fourth and final playoff spot in the Sierra League with a 7-9 record. Damonte, Douglas and Bishop Manogue also made the playoffs from the Sierra League.
