Fallon, Fernley scrimmage postponed; other events up in the air

The football scrimmage between Fallon and Fernley has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Edward Arciniega Complex, according to coach Brooke Hill

The game has been rescheduled due to severe smoke from a fire near Yosemite National Park that has traveled over the Sierra Mountains.

Other activities including the Pop Warner jamboree and the Fallon boys soccer alumni match are still to be decided, according to those respective officials.

The Pop Warner event is slated to begin at 9 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. The soccer match, meanwhile, is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at the high school athletic complex.

The Fallon Fights, meanwhile, is still scheduled to go on as planned at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Churchill County Fairgrounds.

According to media reports, high school activities have been suspended in Washoe County through Saturday.

The University of Nevada also rescheduled its women’s soccer match against San Francisco to 1 p.m. Sunday.
