Alleged Army deserter, 1 other arrested in Carson City

An alleged Army deserter was arrested Tuesday at an apartment in the Parkway Plaza complex, 20 College Parkway. According to Carson City Sheriff’s Office reports: Matthew James Golden, 24, of Carson City was a military police officer based in Sacramento. He went missing Nov. 17. A deputy with the Sheriff’s Office’s Special Enforcement Team arrested Golden at 6:05 p.m. on a felony deserter/absentee warrant issued by the armed forces. A 19-year-old Carson City man in the apartment was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and criminal contempt. Golden was being …
