Obituary Claire June Newman

A graveside service for Claire June Newman, 80, a Wellington resident for the past 17 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eastside Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Newman died Aug. 11, 2001, at her home. She was born June 20, 1921, in Mobile, Ala., to Issac Elbert and Hazel Ethel Mitchell Ogletree.

Mrs. Newman was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, feeding the wild birds and rabbits and was a fantastic cook.

Among her survivors are her husband Richard A. of Wellington; sons Patrick Rumsey of Fort Bragg, Calif., and Richard Newman II of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter Sandra Valerie of Santa Rosa, Calif., and brother Aubrey Mitchell of Louisiana.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary, Minden, is in charge of arrangements.
