Obituary: Glen Kay Hire

Glen Kay Hire, 78, a 31-year resident of Topaz, died Aug. 17, 2001, in Carson City.

Mr. Hire was born Jan 27, 1923, in Peoria, Ill., to Herman and Bessie Hire.

Mr. Hire attended the University of Southern Illinois and worked as an engineer for 28 years with American Rockwell Corp. He retired from Bently Nevada after 18 years in 1987.

He was a member of the Lions Club, the Association of Engineers and served as a pilot and was a captain in the U.S. Army Air Force for more than four years.

He loved the outdoors and sharing his hunting, fishing, flying and horses with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Rosalie of Topaz; his brother Gene of Florida, and sisters Marjorie Hire of Illinois, and Jackie Lea of Florida; his children Barbara, Allen, Randy, Steve and Linda; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are being set up with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's' associations.

Waltons Chapel of the Valley and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
