Tigersharks finish swim meet strong

Lauren Costella won the 1,650-yard freestyle to highlight a strong finish for the Carson Tigersharks swim club at the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, Wash.


Costella also finished with the third highest point total for women in the meet, which concluded on Suday. Justin Barber placed seventh overall for the men for the Tigersharks in the meet.


With only four swimmers, the Tigersharks finished seventh overall as a team and fourth among non-collegiate clubs. Ryan and Tara Theilemann also swam for the Tigersharks at the meet.


Costella won the 1,650 free in 16 minutes, 45.78 seconds while Barber finished fifth in the men's race in 16:02.43.


Also on Sunday, Tara Theilemann finished 11th in the 100 free in a personal best of 52.41. Ryan Theilemann had a personal best of 51.37 in the event.


In the 200 breaststroke, Ryan Theilemann took 17th in a personal best 2:15.04. In the 200 butterfly, Costella placed 10th in a personal best 2:06.46 and Barber qualified for the consolation finals in a personal best 1:56.81. In the finals, Barber placed 11th in 1:56.95.
