Advisory board to meet in Reno

The Governor's Advisory Board on Natural Resources will hold it next meeting on Sept. 25.


That all-day meeting will be held in conference room "B" at the Nevada Division of Wildlife's headquarters building at 1100 Valley Road in Reno.


The board will begin its meeting at 8:30 a.m.


Board members are Barbara Curti of Reno (chairperson), Dennis Selleck of Las Vegas (Vice-Chairman), Randall Capurro of Las Vegas, Russ Fields of Reno, Mike Pavlakis of Carson City, Don Quilici of Carson City and John Venarecci of Douglas County.


Included on the board's agenda are:


- An explanation of the Nevada Division of Wildlife's program to address the sage grouse issue in Nevada by Terry Crawforth, Administrator for the Nevada Division of Wildlife.


- The status and proposals for the Lahontan cutthroat trout in Nevada by Bob Williams of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Terry Crawforth of the Nevada Division of Wildlife.


- Wild horse management activities in Nevada by a representative of the Bureau of Land Management and Cathy Barcomb of the Nevada Wild Horse Commission.


- Consolation of fire fighting agencies in the Truckee Meadows by Roy Trenoweth of the Nevada Division of Forestry.
