The Bureau of Land Management is sponsoring a special harvest of approximately 150 pine trees this weekend to be donated to local families in need.
United Way and BLM volunteers will cut designated trees and Sierra Pacific will provide trucks to haul the trees. The United Way will then distribute the trees to agencies who have identified needy recipients.
Members of the public are welcome to join the outing. Participants should meet at Dayton High School at 9 a.m. Sunday and bring a four-wheel drive vehicle, lunch and water. Car pooling will also be organized if necessary.
