Ryan Buttner's shot with no time on the clock gave the Carson boys basketball team a 62-61 win over Merced at the Amador Valley Tournament in California.

Cody Longero penetrated down the middle and dished off to Buttner, who made a jumper from just inside the three-point line for the game-winner.

"He made a good move," said Carson coach Bruce Barnes about Buttner becoming open for the game-winner. "He got hammered on the shot, but the didn't call it. Thank god it went in."

Vinnie Reymus scored 19 points, Longero had 17 points and Vince Inglima added 13 points for Carson (7-2).

It was the second straight game for Carson that was decided on a shot at the buzzer. In the tournament opener against Amador Valley, the Senators had a shot blocked as time ran out in a 68-67 loss.

"Came down to the last second shot again," Barnes said. "This time it went our way. It was nice for them to bounce back."

Carson will play in the tournament at 4:30 p.m. today against Manuel Arts.
