Carson City Supervisor candidates will square off in a final debate before the primary.

The Republican Woman's Club will host the supervisor candidates competing for the Ward 4 seat at a Tuesday luncheon. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. The luncheon costs $12 to attend.

Rosemary Smith, moderator for the group, will allow luncheon attendees to write questions which she will ask Verne Horton, Frank Sharp and Richard Staub to answer. Rather than each candidate relaying their backgrounds and favorite issues, the candidates will answer where they stand on issues raised to each question.

"We want to let everyone become more acquainted with them," Smith said. "They're not as well known as the mayoral candidates, but their job, in another way, is just as important."

In previous meetings between the three, Sharp and Staub have differed on opinions on how to help improve the Sheriff's Department. All three candidates support economic development and improving transportation capabilities.
