The Dayton volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the Northern Nevada 3A playoffs with a 15-10, 15-4, 13-15, 15-11 win against Truckee Wednesday.
Dayton will play Lowry in a match scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Manogue while Manogue will play the winner between Spring Creek and Yerington at 10 a.m. The top three teams from Saturday's tournament will advance to the state championships.
Against Truckee, Bri Savage had nine kills, Rachel Hurt had eight kills and three blocks while serving for eight points and two aces, Cindy Waunbaugh had seven kills and eight assists while serving for seven points, Cayla Reese had five kills and 13 assists while served for eight points and two aces, Tee Baratti had four kills, Janie Morphew had three kills and five blocks while served for 11 points and two aces, Jani Essman had three kills while serving for 13 points and Carissa Leach served for eight points.
