The 2000 Nevada mourning and white wing dove hunting season opens on Friday, one half hour before sunrise.

It is the first of the many different 2000 Nevada bird seasons.

The dove limit is 10 daily and 20 in possession.

This season will close on Sept. 30.

- Note: The white wing dove hunting season is closed in all counties except Clark and Nye Counties.

- Note: Hunters are reminded that because the dove is a migratory bird and comes under federal regulations, shotguns must be plugged to limit the overall shotgun capacity to three shells.

- Note: Hunters are reminded that they will need to obtain a Harvest Information Program validation number prior to hunting any migratory bird species. They will need to call (800) 938-5263 for that validation number.

For information, call the Nevada Division of Wildlife at 688-1500 during business hours.
