MADISONVILLE, Texas - A father herded three children into their trailer home and forced their grandmother at gunpoint to douse the place with gasoline before it was set on fire Wednesday, officials say. All three children were killed.
Rafael Holiday, 21, was jailed on three counts of murder.
Tela Mange, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Public Safety, said the motive was unknown. Mange said how the fire began was still being investigated.
The youngsters were 18 months old, 5 and 7. The youngest was Holiday's.
The children's mother had left to call 911 and returned to find her home in flames, Mange said.
The grandmother escaped through a window.
