A fire Monday evening at the end of Corbett Street burned about a quarter acre of brush.

Carson City and Nevada Division of Forestry firefighters responded to the blaze at about 6:08 p.m.

The fire was at the base of a bluff that rises up to the end of the street.

A firefighter at the scene said there were several possible causes, including the remnants of a small cook fire, but that an investigator was not called in.

The fire scorched small trees lining the top of the bluff and was quickly extinguished.

Winds were light and no structures were threatened by the fire.

Carson City fire officials turned mop up over to state firefighters.

No one was injured either by or in fighting the fire.
