Free Painting Classes; Nation-Wide Decorative Painting Day

The National Society of Tole and Decorative Painting has marked Saturday as a day of lessons.

Across the nation, a beautiful heart-shaped box will be painted with the help of teachers who are volunteering their time. Those taking the free class will go home with a beautiful faux finish box decorated with leaves. There are 15 teachers from the Reno chapter, the Sierra Nevada Decorative Painters, who are taking part in the event.

In Carson City, MaryEllen Radtke, 885-8166, and Susan Borda, 883-1812, will be teaching at Joann's Fabric & Craft Store and The Craft Market. You can contact them for information or to find out about lessons in other areas.

Radtke will be at Joann's and Borda will be at Craft Market. Each teacher will be taking care of sign-ups.
