RENO - The home of U.S. Rep. Jim Gibbons, R-Nev., was damaged Thursday when a piece of construction equipment rolled down a slope into the garage.
Gibbons and his family were not at his home on Kinney Lane at 11 a.m. when the frontloader, owned by Tahoe Concrete of Incline Village, rolled out of control. Damage to the garage is being classified as minor and structural in nature.
The driver jumped to safety as the front loader started sliding. He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center by a co-worker and treated for a broken shoulder and thumb.
A traffic accident report is pending.
