Carson Girls Softball is pleased to report that two teams from its competitive softball program, the Carson Sharks, have qualified for the ASA Western Regional Tournament to be held the weekend of July 15.

The teams from the Under-12 and Under-14 divisions will be traveling to Redwood City, Calif., and Visalia, Calif., to compete against teams from Hawaii, California and Nevada. The teams qualified through strong performances in the Nevada ASA Tournament held last weekend in Sparks.

In order to raise funds to travel to these tournaments, two car washes will be held on Saturday, July 8. The locations are 307 W. Winnie Lane (Westwinds Professional Complex) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and 4962 Hwy. 50 East (Homes America) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The public and their cars are urged to come out on Saturday and support these outstanding young athletes. In addition, any contributions toward the tournament expenses would be greatly appreciated and can be mailed to Carson Girls Softball, P. O. Box 47, Carson City 89702, dropped by either of the car washes or delivered to 307 W. Winnie Lane, Suite 1 during weekday business hours. Any questions can be directed to Randy Kuckenmeister at 885-8847 or 885-8840.

We would like to thank our sponsors for our league and tournaments during the year and hope to make Carson City proud in the regional tournaments. Good luck to the players on the 15th.

RANDY KUCKENMEISTER

President, Carson Girls Softball
