Letter: Congress needs to act on Black Rock bill

I agree with your Oct. 12 editorial "Time to support Black Rock bill." Many of the counties in our state that say they are opposed to the measure that would protect one of Nevada's great treasures - the Black Rock Desert and High Rock Canyon region - passed those resolutions before Senator Bryan ever introduced a bill.

Now that Reid and Bryan have worked with Nevadans and their Senate colleagues to reach a compromise that garnered the support of every U.S. senator, the counties should take another look and our House members should work to pass the

bill before they leave D.C. to come home and campaign. That means this week, please!
