Recently Bill and Carmen Creekbaum (Bill writes a column in the Appeal Sunday Business Section) were wed. I want to share with the readers a most innovative and philanthropic idea the couple thought of.
A few days before the wedding, Bill visited the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Foundation office and dropped off a sizable check. He explained that in lieu of party favors, he and Carmen had decided to make a donation to the Foundation.
At each place setting at their lovely outdoor reception, a label on a small chocolate bar explained about the gift. Everyone I spoke with thought it was a fabulous idea, mostly because wedding favors are often left behind and usually tossed out. People really appreciated the thoughtfulness and generosity of the newlyweds.
What a great way for a couple to start their lives together; doing something really good for the community! Thanks again, Bill and Carmen!
