I am writing in behalf of a newly formed (December 1999) nonprofit animal organization, of which I am proud to be a part and a board member. Its name, The Capital City Humane Society of Carson City. Since we are a new organization, financial contributions are welcome on behalf of of all the animals of Carson City. We are planning to have a no-kill shelter, meaning that all animals brought to us will have a chance to be adopted into a good home.

If you would like to help in any way, please contact Isabel Young, President, Capital City Humane Society, P.O. Box 2856, Carson City 89702-2856. We are also proud to have our very own humane enforcement officer, David Patterson, recently sworn in by our mayor - the first in Carson City.

Our city has needed a no-kill shelter for many, many years, which when it is operational, will be open seven days a week.
