Letter: Who really benefits from I-580 project?

Don't you wonder who's really behind the push for the "not needed" I-580, the road from Mount Rose Highway to Washoe Valley? Who owns the land that it would be built on? Who will get the juicy contracts for building it? What road would help the most people?

If you are tired of the congestion on Highway 395 through downtown Carson City, then write or call Tom Stephens, chairman of the Nevada Department of Transportation and Darrel R. Daines, vice chairman, and Gov. Kenny Guinn, director, and say that the bypass around the capital is far more important than a not-wanted scenic wonder.

There is a board meeting of the NDOT on Sept. 20. So send your letter to 1263 S. Stewart St. and do it now!
