LAS VEGAS - A 22-year-old Las Vegas man was sentenced to life in prison by District Judge Donald Mosley on Thursday for a September 1999 sexual assault at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel-casino.
Juan Garcia Diaz must serve at least 44 years before he will be eligible for parole.
Police say the 57-year-old victim was followed into a bathroom at the Hilton by Diaz, who beat, robbed and raped her.
Diaz was convicted of six felony counts during a jury trial in June.
