Obituary: Alma Rae Nolen

Alma Rae Nolen, 75, a resident of Merced, Calif. for two years, died July 24, 2000. She was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Anadarko, Okla.

She moved to Carson City in 1975 where she lived until 1998.

Mrs. Nolen worked as a licensed vocational nurse at Mercy Hospital for three years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and greatly enjoyed needlework, music and spending time with her family.

Among her survivors are her daughters Della Salas of Merced, Pat Flammer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Betty Silby and Cindy Snodgrass, both of of Carson City; and Carol Cox of Mariposa, Calif.; mother, Pernetta of Merced; brothers, Charles Lindsey of Merced and Dan Lindsey of Susanville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and burial will held at Evergreen Memorial Park on July 28.

Stratford Evans Funeral Home, Merced Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
