Obituary: Hazel E. Cleveland

Hazel E. Cleveland, 84, a Topaz Ranch Estates resident for the past nine months and former Gardnerville resident for three years, died Sept. 7, 2000 at her home in Wellington. She was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Portageville, N.Y., to Edwin and Grace Belle Smith Walker.

Mrs. Cleveland was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and her cats. She was a Protestant.

She was preceded in death by her husband Voyle Robert in 1979 in Taft, Texas; sons, James E. Martin in 1999 in Maryland and David Mc Carin in 1965 in New York and two brothers.

Among her survivors are her sons William N. of Gardnerville and Melvin E. of Mason; daughter, Ruby L. Hoyne of Gardnerville; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
