Obituary: Hobart W.E. Lohmann

A funeral for Hobart W.E. Lohmann, 72, a Gardnerville resident for the past six years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home. A second visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mr. Lohmann died Nov. 14, 2000, at Carson Valley Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1928, in Concordia, Mo., to Edwin and Josephine Martens Lohmann.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in West Hills, Calif.

Mr. Lohmann was a tool and die supervisor for Northrop Aircraft Corp. in Hawthorne, Calif., for 39 years. He was very interested in the welfare of his church. He was an avid collector of many things and he loved roses and had a beautiful rose garden.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the California 40th Division, Company K, 223rd Regiment Association. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was a corporal in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan H. Lohmann who died in 1932.

Among his survivors are his wife Frances D. of Gardnerville; sons Craig D. of Palmdale, Calif. and Kurt E. of Los Lunas, N.M.; daughter Marsha D. Goodman of Gardnerville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park.
