A graveside service for Lilian Nicholson Steepleton, 66, a Gardnerville resident for the past 12 years, will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Mrs. Gardner died Dec. 13, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Edinburgh, Scotland, to Ian and Ellen Rudland Nicholson.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Scotland.
Mrs. Steepleton was a sales assistant for Inga Lora's Silver in Gardnerville for three years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was an Episcopalian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn in 1998 in Reno and brother Thomas Walter Connor in 1995 in Scotland.
Among her survivors are her son Glenn Thomas of Ramona, Calif.; daughter Elaine Minor of Sparks; sister Elizabeth Higgins of Scotland; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
