Obituary: Richard David Welton

A memorial service for Richard David Welton, 62, a Gardnerville resident for the past 21 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Comstock Mobile Home Park Clubhouse.

Mr. Welton died Oct. 22, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1938, in South Gate, Calif., to Clayton and Cletus A. Bell Welton.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Downey, Calif.

Mr. Welton worked for the Carson City School District in building maintenance. He was a member of the Silver Sage Pistol Club and the Western Nevada Pistol League.

He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1955 to 1962.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judith and sister Peggy Maves.

Among his survivors are his sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Renee of Dayton and Alex and Sandy of Colorado Springs, Colo. and son David of Gardnerville; sisters Ruth Kline of Chino, Calif., Janice Novello of Long Beach, Calif. and Mary Busigin of Dayton and five grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
